About Chan-delicious…

Hello Foodies...

Chan-delicious was born in the veld in the Klein Karoo – alongside the fire where I played “koskokertjie” at the age of 6.

My name is Chantal Julie, the owner and founder of Chan-delicious.

I carry with me all the memories of growing up in Prince Albert. Stories of food, love and family. My first recipe: 1-2-3 Cookies from the Huisgenoot magazine.

How my father taught me to knead bread dough at 14. The recipes my mother and aunts handed down to me.

Eating watermelon on the stoep. Baking for my Granny so that I could listen to her stories.

At school my favourite subject was Home Economics. I completed my diploma in Hospitality Services after school and went on to work in the industry as a Chef.

At school I would write short stories for the Cape Rapport. While working for a Game Lodge, I noticed the Oudtshoorn newspaper didn’t have any food related articles.

I contacted them and we talked it over… and I became their Food Foendi!

"Koskokertjie"

After a year of writing articles, I emailed the Programme Manager at a local radio station telling her I would love to have my own show! After several emails and no reply, one day – out of the blue – she asked to meet. She offered me a 15 minute slot as a test run. If she liked it, it was my slot. If not, I was out of there! I put in a lot of work and made sure I was prepared… and  got it! I would take off work on Wednesdays and travel to George to do the show, Food Crazy.

With 21 years experience in the Hospitality Trade, I would love to educate young and old, by teaching (via my social media platforms) how to fall in love with cooking and baking straight from my kitchen – MY HAPPY PLACE!

Order your own baking kits from my Online Shop and then tune in to share my passion  as you read the stories and watch the cooking tutorials. I want to share the very best local products with South Africa so that you too can make and share your own food with YOUR family and friends… and have JUST ONE MORE BITE!

My One and Only Hubbels
What a privilege to be their mommy! Thank You Lord Jesus.
